An award-winning brand identity developed by the creative team of studio formascope design for Gastropolis, a modern gourmet food market offering different culinary corners in one location.
Formascope is a branding and graphic design studio with a distinctive conceptual approach. Their aim is to constantly find different combinations of form and content.
Back in 2018, the studio was commissioned to create a brand identity for Gastropolis, a modern gourmet food market offering different culinary corners in one location. The main challenge was to develop a uniform brand visual identity that reflects the diversity of this unique place. Please read more below.
Using form as a language of communication, the simple graphic design concept is based on human relationships with food. This particular relationship often starts with a plate and cutlery, which has been used as key visual of Gastropolis’ minimalist style. Feel free to learn more below the following image.
The complete visual language of Gastropolis is based on simple graphic shapes mixed with a variety of content. This way, the brand identity has been built by combining two forms and three elements (one circle, two lines). The logo, a symbol of plate and cutlery, became the main origin of the entire brand identity. The logo can be transformed in various ways to create different culinary corners using the same shapes.
