Dutch photographer Wouter le Duc just finished his most personal project called ‘Echo’.
Wouter le Duc is a Dutch portrait photographer who strives to show what’s underneath the mask of daily life. It’s like he captures a glimpse of the inner world of the sitter. Just recently, Wouter le Duc finished his most personal project called ‘Echo’.
Wouter le Duc says: “It’s situated in an artist-in-residency in a former monastery in France which I visited year after year. It’s the last building of a tiny village and it feels like it’s an island on its own, isolated from the rest of the world. Secluded from the daily pace of life, there is space and time to ask questions without having to find the answer. I photographed these individuals (artists, dancers, writers, etc) in this energy of making sense of their thoughts. And by doing so, I was doing the same things as they did; making sense of my thoughts and ideas.”
