Costes was the very first Hungarian Michelin-starred restaurant. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they decided to introduce a card game through the ordering process to compose an interactive gastronomical experience. Studio NUR was asked to create a set of cards based on the idea of using cards as an explanatory menu, which is coming from their Michelin-starred chef, Eszter Palágyi who is well-known for her inventive, playful cuisine. The deck of playing cards consists of 16 various elements, which resemble a card game with typically arranged symbols and texts presented on a special cardboard paper. Studio NUR has decided to create the set slightly bigger than ordinary playing cards to unfold the whole menu with explanations and fun facts. With dexterous line-drawings printed using letterpress technics, the main ingredients of each dish are highlighted on the front side of the cards, while the logotype is emphasized with silver hot foil stamping. A gentle glow of silver appears on the edges and on the box of the cards as well. The joker is a blank card, some kind of a guest book to encourage guests to leave a note.
