Fictions, a surreal illustration series by Ben Tolman.
Ben Tolman is an artist and illustrator who lives and works in Washington DC. He received a BFA in 2005 from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Later in 2012, Ben Tolman received his MFA from American University. His illustrative work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. He was one of the finalists in the prestigious Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.
With fine lines mostly in black and white, Ben Tolman creates detailed drawings that cross the border between fiction and the reflection of our own personality as well as the society we are living in. The drawings below are part of his “Fiction” series, which has been created in 2014. The full series consists of 27 pieces. Each artwork shows a couple of naked people in strange, sometimes very surreal environments or scenarios. You can see all pieces of the series as well as other artworks by Ben Tolman on his website: www.bentolman.com
