The first permanent installation in China of French artist and designer Arnaud Lapierre has been unveiled.
The first permanent artwork in China by Paris-based Arnaud Lapierre has been unveiled recently in Shanghai, China. In the past, Arnaud received much attention because of the iconic installation ‘Ring’, which he had created for Place Vendôme on the occasion of FIAC 2011. His recently unveiled artwork named ‘Ring – Chain’ was created in collaboration with studio UAP. It provides an iconic centerpiece within the district of Ruihong Xin Cheng in the center of Shanghai’s “golden triangle”.
Using a repeating series of large mirror bricks, the sculpture creates a dynamic and interactive atmosphere. Furthermore, it enables visitors to enter the enclosure and to see their own reflection multiplied to infinity. Feel free to have a look at the images below.
