WebGL Short Film “LIVYATANIM: Myth”

LIVYATANIM: Myth, an interactive WebGL short film that was made alongside a song from the LIVYATANIM album.

Or Fleisher is a director and artist as well as co-founder of studio Phenomena Labs. The last couple of years he has been working on audio reactive installations and interactive experiences for a variety of digital projects. Moreover, he is fascinated by optics and cameras. Recently he designed a spherical rig for 360° shooting, which was also 3D printed. Or Fleisher is also practicing technologies like the Neurosky brainwave sensing technology, Leap Motion and other depth sensing and bio-feedback tools. The experience he’s about is to present a joint venture between studio Phenomena Labs and the artist himself.

Or Fleisher suggested me to check out one of his last projects on which he had worked with a creative team. The project with the name “LIVYATANIM: Myth” is a WebGL short film that was made alongside a song from the LIVYATANIM album. The film features an interactive 360° VR world, which was conceived after a series of sessions conducted between Or Fleisher and the artist, Aviv Meshulam (Livyatanim musical project). The experience uses the song’s midi notation to generate most of the actions seen in the film, which fuses the soundtrack into the world in order to create a surreal user experience. The whole thing is wrapped in WebVR which allows anyone with a Google Cardbord (or even a VR headset) to view the entire thing on a mobile device. In addition, you can also dive into this surreal world via your laptop or desktop pc. Check it out here.
