Artist Rebecca Ward

Eyes on American artist Rebecca Ward.

Rebecca Ward was born in 1984 in Waco, a city which is the county seat of McLennan County, Texas, United States. Today she lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. After a BA in Fine Arts and Studio Art at University of Texas in Austin, Rebecca Ward studied Fine Arts at School of Visual Arts, New York, where she graduated with a MFA in 2012. Since that time, her work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions nationally and abroad. Rebecca Ward is not just a painter in a classical sense. She loves to experiment with new techniques and materials. Her body of work comprises installations and abstract paintings of diverse geometric shapes. She skillfully plays with different materials, forms, textures, colors or even transparencies. Whether painting, installation or something between, her work shows a great sense of how to mix different forms, colors, and materials.

Below you can find a selection of 5 artworks as well as a view from her latest exhibition in Europe, which has been hosted at London based Ronchini Gallery in 2015. For more of Rebecca Ward’s abstract art, feel free and have a look at her website.
