Katja Kremenic is a Croatian photographer and visual artist with a background in media, communications and filmmaking. After spending half of her life on an island of Cres in the northern Adriatic region, Katja Kremenic moved to Ljubljana to study communication and media. Today she’s living between Berlin and Ljubljana working on several personal projects. In addition, she is often engaged in commissioned projects, mainly for portrait, travel, and fashion shoots. Katja Kremenic shoots both analog and digital. Her work has been exhibited in international fashion and art publications, collaborative projects, diverse institutions and art galleries. With her body of photographic work, she has contributed to many fashion, lifestyle and adventure magazines such as Neon, Vogue Italia, Off the Rails, The photographic Journal, Der Greif, REVS, Lens, MC Photo Annual, and many others. Katja Kremenic’s work straddles the line between fashion, lifestyle, and travel photography. Her photographs convey a sense of an unforgettable trip or the dream of a never-ending summer. With lots of spontaneity and intimacy, Katja Kremenic skillfully combines adventures with fashion. It offers unexpected scenery, great locations, precious findings, and most importantly fun. Her favorite places are all related to the ocean. She loves summer, heat, vast landscapes, simple beach life, surfing, swimming, hanging out with friends, and taking photos of versatile scenarios or people in different situations. Therefore beaches and the sea have a prominent role as iconic backdrops for her photographs. The photographer is fascinated by the fact that each picture has a trace of reality. Under the enormous influence of the diversity of all the visited places, the nature and all additional impressions, Katja Kremenic takes pictures of everything that attracts her eyes. She considers her work as more than simple snapshots. It’s not just about finding intensity within everyday objects, for Katja Kremenic it’s more about encountering the new world in a documentary, which is deeply personal and often very romantic.
