WE AND THE COLOR official media partner of the EyeEm Photography Festival & Awards 2016.

I’m proud to announce that WE AND THE COLOR has been selected as an official media partner of the 2016 EyeEm Photography Festival & Awards (site). EyeEm is a global community of about 18 million photographers from more than 150 countries. Through their mobile app and website as well as diverse exhibitions and a recently-launched marketplace, EyeEm aims to help both new and experienced photographers to unleash their creativity, get discovered, and sell their work.

The EyeEm Festival & Awards had its debut in Berlin in September 2014. It started immediately as the world’s biggest annual photography award. Last year’s show was held in Brooklyn, New York. With an impressive lineup of today’s leaders in photography, arts, and technology including NASA, Google, the Guggenheim Museum, VICE, and National Geographic, the show of 2015 brought together photographers and creative visionaries with leading brands to explore the future of photography and its impact on the creative society.

In August 27, 2016, the show will be bag in Berlin. Amongst a selected range of media partners, WE AND THE COLOR will give you some insights into the festival’s program and awards. Now in its third year, the festival will celebrate emerging talents as well as revolutionary innovations from the world of photography.

Through a variety of keynotes, workshops, an awards exhibition and winner ceremony, the 2016 edition will bring together leading experts with the creative society from all over the world. In a big gala show and after party we will enjoy the finalists exhibition and celebrate the awards winners of 2016.

A world-spanning competition for talented photographers.

During the past few months, talented photographers from all over the world were invited to submit their work (submissions now closed). A jury of experts will review all entries to pick a selection of finalists which will be on display at the awards exhibition. Furthermore, we will celebrate the winners in the categories of portrait photography, architecture, outdoors, photojournalism, and street art. The finalists will be announced within the next weeks.

Anastasia Taylor-Lind

The English/Swedish photographer is currently undertaking a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University. With an background as photojournalist, Anastasia Taylor-Lind worked for leading editorial publications from all over the world. Her first book ‘Maidan: Portraits from the Black Square’ was published by GOST books in 2014.

Anna Dickson

Photo Lead, Google Community Team: Anna Dickson

With an experience of over 10 years in the fields of print, online and new media, Anna Dickson is currently working at Google. She is bringing imagery to Zagat, Local Guides, Google Maps and more. Prior Google, she worked for The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post and others.

Anthony Holland Parkin
Anthony Holland Parkin

Senior Creative Director, Getty Images: Anthony Holland Parkin

Anthony Holland Parkin’s responsibilities at Getty Images range from managing diverse aspects of commercial photo shoots up to the execution of merchandising campaigns.
In 2016, he will kindly mentor the EyeEm Photographer of the Year.

Freunde von Freunden is an independent publication from Berlin documenting creative people from diverse fields and cultural backgrounds. Frederik Frede is also the Director of design studio MoreSleep.

Lars Boering
Lars Boering

Managing Director, World Press Photo: Lars Boering

He was curator and managing director of the Amsterdam Art Foundation. In 2008, Lars Boering founded Lux Photo Gallery. In January 2015, he became managing director of World Press Photo. Furthermore, he has taught at master classes and academies.
