Tom Climent is an Irish artist who creates paintings with a certain figurative approach inspired by urban and landscape subjects. His artworks exceed the limits between abstraction and representation. Construction and deconstruction become active tools in the creation process of his paintings.
The artist’s current work is mainly focused on spatial constructions and how they provide a structured space for ourselves. His mostly intuitive paintings can display a spectacularly dramatic scenery or structures. Intense colors and intuitive compositions characterize Tom Climent’s paintings.
His paintings have been shown in several group and solo exhibitions. Some of the artworks are in the collections of The Irish Central Bank, The National Treasury Management Agency of Ireland, University College Cork, University College Dublin, Smurfit Business School, AIB Bank, The National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland, NCB Stockbrokers, The Cork Opera House, Cork City Council, The Irish Office of Public Works, Cork Institute of Technology, and several private collections in Ireland, UK, Spain, USA, and Canada.
