Pencils are normally used to write down or illustrate our thoughts and ideas. They are an indispensable tool for most people’s work, whether in an office, workshop, or studio. Pencils allow us to make thoughts visible and help to collect knowledge.
Amalgamated is a collection of vases by Studio Markunpoika. This design project explores an individual and completely new use of pencils. While a pencil is normally used as a tool that helps planning or creating things, this project uses pencils as a raw material. This set of vases is completely made up from countless pencils, which produce a unique and beautiful texture.
