The Lakewood art studio in Florida.
For their client, a couple with three children, the team of KZ architecture was tasked with a revision of the existing home located in Florida. The entire property is situated between mature oaks to the front and a lake on the back of the house. The architects were tasked to add an artist studio for the mother on the Northern edge of the house. In addition, the client asked for a re-design of the outdoor areas, which included a fabric canopy, a pool, and the large open space down to the lake.
The studio was designed as an anchor for a range of outdoor spaces in order to celebrate the subtropical indoor/outdoor living. Helped by a massive floor plate, the spacious art studio seems to float above the new designed patio of the house.
