White, Blue & Wild Red Glory, a travel photo series by Stefanie Schmid Rincon documenting America’s national pride.
Stefanie Schmid Rincon is a freelance photographer residing in Berlin, Germany. Her multilingual and multicultural upbringing between Germany and Colombia has shaped her creative vision over many years. She studied Photography and Art in Bogota, Colombia from 2005 – 2008 before she moved to Berlin, Germany to work as a production assistant and freelance photographer for the renowned production company, Trigger Happy Productions. In 2011, Stefanie went back to her Photography studies, this time in Berlin at Neue Schule für Fotografie, to finish of her masters program. Please read more below.
Her personal work mainly focuses on the everyday life found in various street situations. Whether Berlin, Barcelona or New York City, Stefanie always has her analog camera at hand. While spending 3 months in the US, she realized that every 5 minutes you are reminded that you are in the United States of America. There is a flag in almost every corner and even some houses, clothes, and signs have this striking color combination of white, blue and wild red glory. Coming from a country like Germany, one could never see something like that. So it really caught her eye and she started to focus on this.
