Villa Melana, a modern country house with breathtaking sea views in Tyros, Greece.
Villa Melana is a collaborative project by the architects Valia Foufa and Panagiotis Papassotiriou. The design of the house refers to the local architecture.
The architects wanted to create a home that combines traditional elements such as local arcadian stone or the typical shape of regional buildings with a modern sense of simplicity and elegance. They have placed this home at the only possible naturally formed plateau of the slope in order to avoid unnecessary groundworks. The predestined site provides breathtaking views of the sea at the coast of Tyros, Greece.
3 separate volumes define the structure of the building. The result is an architectural concept, which is characterized by different materials and the interplay of old and new.
