Art direction, graphic design, and rebranding by Forth + Back of the visual identity for the art museum and cultural center, UCR ARTS.
Here comes another high-quality branding project, this time realized by Los Angeles, CA-based graphic design studio Forth + Back. Founded and led by Nikolos Killian and Tanner Woodbury, the studio had the opportunity to rebrand the visual identity for the art museum and cultural center known as UCR ARTS. Affiliated with the University of California Riverside, UCR ARTS is comprised of two connected institutions, The California Museum of Photography and The Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts.
Forth + Back has created an entirely new identity visualizing both institutions (photography and contemporary art respectively) under one cohesive brand experience. In order to distinguish the two connected institutions, the studio came up with the idea of developing a flexible identity that’s able to expand and contract through the use of a “connective visual line”. This system has been applied across a variety of media. It allows the use of different layouts to similarly expand and contract to accommodate all kinds of art and imagery of all shapes and sizes. A lot of imagery from the project can be found below. for more, please visit the website of Forth + Back.
