The Crooked Forest, a photo series by Kilian Schönberger.
German photographer Kilian Schönberger traveled to Poland to take a series of images of the so-called “Crooked Forest” (Polish: Krzywy Las), a grove of oddly-shaped pine trees located outside Gryfino, West Pomerania, Poland. The trees were planted around 1930, when this region was still part of the German province of Pomerania.

It is not confirmed but today people generally believe that some kind of tool or a specific plant technology was used to make the trees grow like this. This uncertainty also creates some space for speculations about witchcraft or energy fields. Whatever, the crooked shapes create a surreal or fairytale atmosphere.
