Photographer Joao Morgado sent me a new project he has photographed recently in Portugal. The Technological Park in Obidos, Portugal has been designed by Jorge Mealha. The project is nominated for Mies van der Rohe Award 2015.

Back in 2010, Óbidos Municipality launched an architectural competition with the aim to design the central buildings and main piazza for the Óbidos Technological Park, which is intended as a start-up built structure to allocate creative companies. The Technological Park site is situated in the vicinity of Óbidos, a small historic town located about 100 km north of Lisbon.

Jorge Mealha and his team developed a design solution intended to reverse the ongoing pavement process in this territory trough the design of an architectural strategy that tries to reverse this logic. Their solution maintained as much as possible of the green environment.
