This is not our first feature of Steve Kim’s creative work, but this time we focus on this special collection of oil paintings created from 2009 – 2011. All artworks were painted in different sizes on canvas. With this series, Steve Kim skillfully blends figurative with abstract styles.
Steve Kim was born in Seoul, Korea. At the age of two, he immigrated with his family to the United States. Today he lives and works in Oxford, Mississippi. Steve Kim received his undergraduate degree from Art Center College of Design in 2006 and his masters from Claremont Graduate University in 2010. His creative work has been shown in several group and solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Korea, Italy, UK, Netherlands, and Poland. Besides his artistic work, Steve Kim works as freelance illustrator for big brands such as Adobe, Frame, Matter/Medium, Hohe Luft, The New Republic, Arc/New Scientist, and The Verge. His work has been featured in countless publications ranging from print media to web.
