Here at WATC, we recently had the pleasure of testing Julien Fincker’s new font family called “Spitzkant”. The serif font family was made for both display and text sizes and comes with plenty of ligatures and other typographic features. Its classic but modern look is mainly characterized by sharp serifs as well as a strong contrast with round and delicate shapes. The Spitzkant font family can be considered a true workhorse suitable for plenty of typographic applications and graphic design projects including branding, editorial, packaging, or advertising. The display version is characterized by a particularly high-contrast while its counterpart—the text version is based on a much lower contrast. Hence, using the Spitzkant font family you can create striking headlines and extensive body text. Both sub-families for display and text are equipped with two optical sizes including 5 weights and 20 styles ranging from thin to bold plus matching Italics. Spitzkant comprises more than 850 characters and covers over 200 Latin-based languages. The family is also equipped with an extended set of currency symbols and a wide range of OpenType features including alternative characters as stylistic sets, small caps, automatic fractions, just to name a few.
