Eyes on Chinese photographer and filmmaker, Quentin Shih.
Quentin Shih (时晓凡) was born in Tianjin, China in 1975. Today he lives and works as a photographer and filmmaker between Beijing and New York City. He made his first experiences as a photographer in college – taking pictures of local underground musicians and artists. After his graduation from college, Quentin Shih moved to Beijing with the goal to start a career as a professional photographer and artist. During the first years, he participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in China and America. Many of his photographic artworks are already in the collections of renowned museums such as the Danforth Museum of Art or the Worcester Art Museum.
During all this time, his work always received great recognition. The last years, Quentin Shih has been hired as a photographer and filmmaker for well known clients such as Adidas, Microsoft, Sony, Siemens, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, etc. In 2007, Quentin was named as Photographer of the Year by China’s Esquire Magazine. The following years were marked by several exhibitions across China, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the United States.
