Graphic design, branding, and print design by studio Pop & Pac for Operator 25 Cafe.
For many years, Operator 25 is one of Melbourne’s top cafe’s. Nevertheless, after all these years it was time for a complete design update. Graphic design studio Pop & Pac was asked by the owners to develop a rebranding concept in order to revitalise the cafe identity and the interior.
Studio Pop & Pac’s new brand solution draws inspiration from cords and connection holes of traditional telephone exchange switchboards. These elements were transferred into a graphic representation, which can be found in several artworks and icons as well as a custom logotype. The whole new cafe exterior and interior experience is based on this graphic representation. Pop & Pac’s branding solution is a crossover between switchboard and food imagery, which can be seen in a series of bold new wall art. The artworks are inspired by the playful style of Roy Lichtenstein’s pop art from the 1960s.
Pop & Pac’s graphic work included a custom logotype, new iconography, signage, printed collateral, and the creation of unique artworks.
