Weathered interior design created by Sebastian Cox and Ninela Ivanova using mushroom mycelium.
British furniture designer Sebastian Cox has teamed up with researcher Ninela Ivanova to investigate the potential of mushroom mycelium in contemporary interior design. Sebastian Cox wanted to use this fungal material to create a series of everyday products. Their series ‘Mycelium + Timber’ includes a range of stools and lights. Each element offers a suede-like texture. The series is presented at Somerset House this week, as part of the London Design Festival exhibition Design Frontiers. A few images of the unique collection can be found below. All photographs have been taken by Petr Krejci.
