Self Taught Photographer Sander Meisner

Photography of Urban and Architectural Structures by Sander Meisner.

Sander Meisner is a self taught photographer who lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In his photographic work, he deals with different ideas and themes in public spaces. Sander Meisner captures urban and architectural structures with a certain style of abstraction and a focus on clear, geometric shapes. He takes photos of overlooked corners you can find in buildings and cities. The photographer is looking for geometric shapes, which he usually photographed at night. The artificial light of the night creates striking colors and shapes.

He uses extremely long exposures to create sharp urban sceneries full of colourful shapes. Sander Meisner says he photographs the “sleeping” infrastructure of the urban environment. All these pictures show seemingly deserted man-made structures and buildings. His photographs are made with medium- and large format cameras, captured on analog Fuji and Kodak color negative films.

Below you can see a selection of his images picked from different series.
