Selected images of an experimental landscape photography series called “Irology” by Moroccan photographer Zakaria Wakrim.
Zakaria Wakrim sent me images of his latest photo series called “Irology”. The series features a range of experimental landscape photography mostly taken in North Africa. With a background as an engineer, the Moroccan photographer always tries to apply some experimental means to his photographic work. The “Irology” series is mainly a kind of exploration of infrared photography and its possibilities. With this series, Zakaria Wakrim wanted to reject the natural color scheme of these landscapes. Instead, his aim was to create a surprising effect of strong saturated colors. In order to create a large spectrum of chromatic possibilities, the photos of the series were taken in different locations such as mountains, forests, the desert and the coast.
Below you can find a selection of images taken from the series. You can find more of Zakaria Wakrim’s experimental landscape photography on his website.
