Bibelot – European styled dessert boutique identity and packaging design by Melbourne based studio A Friend Of Mine.
Bibelot (French word for a small object of curiosity or desire) is the name of a recently opened European styled dessert boutique in Melbourne. They offer a delicious range of artisanal chocolates, ice cream, coffee and tea varieties.
Studio A Friend Of Mine was asked to develop a unique visual identity as well as a packaging range and signage for this new dessert boutique. Their branding solution draws inspiration from traditional mosaic tiling techniques. They designed a series of tiling patterns, which are complemented by a custom, geometric typeface. This combination creates a great mix of traditional elements with a sense of modernity. Studio A Friend Of Mine collaborated with Breathe Architecture and a mosaic artist to create a series of custom signage elements within the dessert boutique. Bibelot’s packaging range is also decorated by diverse pattern designs in a monochromatic color palette of black and cream.
