Through the lens of photographer Bex Day.

Today we are pleased to introduce you to the creative work of Bex Day, a photographer and director from London, UK. By breaking the conventions of rigid beauty ideals and stereotypical photography, Bex Day aims to empower the overlooked and underrepresented communities. Her playful, humorous, and surreal photographs are questioning the effects of labeling on identity. Bex Day’s body of work is focusing predominantly on gender, diversity, individuality, the human condition, and freedom of choice.

During the past years, she has worked with a wide range of brands and publishers including Document Journal, Numero Berlin, Fendi, Levi’s, Toast, Lula Japan, Wallpaper Magazine, Vogue Italia, Carven, Twin Magazine, American Apparel, Marta Jakubowski, AnOther, i-D Magazine (UK/DE), British Journal of Photography, Burberry, Adobe, Stella McCartney, Topshop, Dazed and Confused, T Magazine, and Vice (UK/US), just to name a few. Furthermore, Bex Day has lectured about her photographic work at Nicer Tuesdays (It’s Nice That), Cambridge University, The Hepworth Gallery, and the Vogue Italia ‘The Female Gaze’ 2016 and Masculinity Now 2018 exhibition, as well as displaying some of her images. She has been nominated for the Magnum Graduate Award and was part of the ‘209 Women’ exhibition at the Houses of Parliament supporting women in parliament.
