Eyes on Swedish artist Benjamin Bjorklund!
Benjamin Bjorklund was born near Sweden’s west coast in a small town named Trollhättan. Before he started his career as a visual artist, Benjamin Bjorklund has tried various jobs. He has worked as a prison night guard, psychiatric nurse, and he started studying to become a veterinary technician.
Today, Benjamin Bjorklund lives and works as a professional artist in Uppsala, Sweden, enjoying a simple life in a small rustic 19th century wooden farm house. His oil and watercolor paintings are inspired by everyday life. Benjamin Bjorklund’s artworks are a mirror of his emotions. Furthermore, they are interpretations of people that surround him. His compositions and focal points seem simplistic and deliberately coarse. He often creates portraits of family members and friends. Even wild animals are often in the center of his pictures. The primarily figurative artworks can cross the border to a surreal dimension. The characters are painted in various physical or emotional situations, which can differ from the real life.
His paintings have been sold internationally. They are held in private collections in cities such as London, New York, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Melbourne, and across Sweden and Europe.
