Árida, a desert-inspired font family designed by Alfonso García for foundry Latinotype.

Árida is a font family inspired by the Argentinian city of San Juan, which is located in the semi-desert of Cuyo. With its sharp edges, it pays home to the vegetation of this region. The typeface seems aggressive at large sizes but looks warm and friendly at smaller sizes.

The Árida font family comes in 5 weights ranging from Regular (with a matching Italic version) to Black. Its regular weight contains 773 glyphs while its Italic counterpart is composed of 939 glyphs. Furthermore, the family also includes numerous typographic features such as small caps, different styles of figures, ligatures, stylistic and contextual alternates, among other OpenType features.
