Violeta Bakery Brand Identity

Bakery brand identity by Anagrama for Violeta, a traditional Argentinian bakery.

The Violeta bakery is located in the neighborhood of Las Lomas de San Isidro in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The traditional Argentinian bakery is named after its founder, Violeta. After 30 years of creating delicious hand-crafted bread, cakes, and pastries in the city of Buenos Aires, Violeta now wants to start up franchises in Miami, Florida.

Studio Anagrama was entrusted to develop a bakery brand identity that communicates quality and tradition mixed with a good portion of friendliness. Anagrama’s identity proposal is inspired by Buenos Aires’ coat of arms: an oval with two ships sailing over Rio de la Plata and a dove flying above them. The designers multiplied the dove by three as a tribute to the three decades of the bakery. The typical lines were used all over the bakery brand identity in four different textures. Violet was used as distinctive brand color in order to match the naming and to keep the brand fresh, modern, and feminine.

  1. I think the design, logo and packaging is amazing by itself. However, I don’t think it’s fitting for a bakery – it doesn’t make sense (this is just my opinion). I think they should keep the minimal lines though. Although the packaging looks simple, it’s too complicated for a bakery. The shopping bag and the bread holder are too much. The bread holder looks like a giant business card and the bag looks like I’ve gone shopping at the mall.
