Tishk Barzanji illustrations are inspired by ancient history, the Modernism movement, and personal experiences.

Tishk Barzanji is a Kurdish illustrator who moved to London in 1997. He studied Fine Art at Richmond upon Thames College, and Physics at Loughborough University. With a passion for architecture and art, his dreamlike illustrations are explorations of space, color, deconstruction and how humans interact with these elements. Using mixed media, Tishk Barzanji’s creates otherworldly scenes of surreal landscapes and urban spaces. Most of his artworks are dominated by diverse arrangements of walls, staircases and architecture. In a recent interview with It’s Nice That, the artist explains: “I base my work on a moment or period in my life, good or bad, when I felt lost. A couple of years ago my anxiety was really bad, I couldn’t leave my house and I couldn’t really connect with people. I saw my life moving in front of my eyes.”
