Spoorbeeld, developed by Bureau Spoorbouwmeester, sets the guidelines for the design of all the trainstation surroundings in the Netherlands. This includes trains, platforms, the arrival hall and the environment around the trainstations. The perspective of the traveller is always key in developing these guidelines. The environment always changes, the guidelines make sure there is recognizability in a dynamic and thus, always changing, environment. It assures the uniformity and readability of the railways. A lot of partners are involved in these guidelines. Such as station owners, operators, designers, governments and Prorail and the Dutch Railways.

Lava developed the strategy, identity and the website for Spoorbeeld. The strating point for the identity is the relationship between the element and the enitity. This resulted in a modular system where all the elements are building blocks on a square grid. The magnification of the elements came directly from the guidelines itself. This way the forms follows the function 1 on 1.
