Counting Sheep, a series of collages by Lola Dupre for Satellite Journal Volume I: ‘We The People’.
For ‘Counting Sheep’, Spanish artist and illustrator Lola Dupre recently teamed up with the photographers of Tré & Elmaz. It’s a series of fashion inspired collages, which have been created for Satellite Journal Volume I ‘We The People’. Tré & Elmaz were responsible for both styling and the shooting with Genevieve Welsh from Storm Models. Genevieve Welsh was dressed in haute couture from fashion labels such as Jack London, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren. The photographers have shot numerous pictures of Genevieve Welsh in different outfits. Using these images, Lola Dupre has created a great series of collages based on the theme of ‘dreams’. The collages depict how dreams can reveal hidden or repressed feelings. Dreams are like mirrors of our souls. They reflect our unfiltered or unconscious minds as well as deep emotions. Furthermore, the ‘Counting Sheep’ collage series is based on the idea of a human brain that cannot create faces. Each face we see in our dreams is just a reproduction of a face you’ve seen before, even for just a moment.
Below you can see some examples of the collection. You can find more of Lola Dupre’s creative work on her website, just check it out here. You want to know more about Satellite Journal? Feel free and visit their website or follow Satellite Journal on Instagram.
