The architects of McClean Design completed this house in California for a family with three small children. It’s situated at a busy street and one of the main tasks was to design a family home that responds to the hustle of the neighborhood. The architects had the idea to create a special entry that uses several devices to keep the noise outside the house. They designed an entrance for the cars, which is shielded from the busy street by high gates and walls. A curving glass screen connects this first area with an inner courtyard. This allows the light to pass through the glass but keeps the noise outside. The spacious courtyard contains a waterfall and pool. This entire area conveys a sense of peace and privacy, which is quite contrary to the street. The garden contains a second pool and a guest house.
This beautiful two storey family house in California includes a family room, an art room, a gym, and a master as well as four bedrooms on the upper level. Its lower level includes several living and dining rooms, another family room, and an area for media and office.
