Graphic design and iconography by Fernando Fom for a personal project about the city of Seville.

According to the Lonely Planet travel guide, Seville is the city of the year in 2018. Fernando Fom, a Spanish freelance graphic designer and illustrator has created ‘No Guide’ as a personal project to show Seville to his friends. “I have been out of the city for years, but ever so, I always received a lot of emails and messages from my friends who asked for some recommendations about Seville. I wrote simple and cool PDF documentations for them, that were individually customized. The city has changed over the years, but it still holds the same essence. The citizens from Seville are living with tourists from all over, but the image of Seville is obsolete (the signage, souvenirs, postcards, maps, guides,…). It’s obvious that the internet contains a lot of information and some editorial businesses are changing their guides every year. There is no doubt about that. ‘No guide’ is a new experience to enjoy the city. Explore Seville like a real citizen, because some tourists do not want to feel like a “guiri”. Welcome to my city. Our culture begins with a relaxed attitude, so feel the experience and open your senses.” – Fernando Fom
