Telluric, a new solo show by Northern California based artist Micah Crandall-Bear at Elliott Fouts Gallery.
Californian artist Micah Crandall-Bear is currently preparing his newest solo show entitled Telluric. From July 2 to August 4, 2016, Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, CA will feature a new series of abstract landscape paintings. Micah Crandall-Bear’s artworks mainly contain elements that refer to environmental formations. His acrylic paintings have been featured in a variety of publications such as Forbes, ArtSlant, and PBS, just to name a few. Telluric, an exhibition that reminds us to linger and think about the beauty of untouched landscapes.
With vibrant colors and layered brushstrokes, the artist uses the entire surface of the canvas to create smooth, boundless, and energetic images. Through his acrylic paintings, he communicates a strong commitment to the environment in which we live as well as a comparison between artificial and natural landscapes. His aim is to explore the duality in today’s technology, which can be both a threat and an access to our natural environment. With this in mind, he wants to demonstrate that all the natural surroundings are still the most complex and beautiful innovations we have.
For several years, the Californian artist deals with these earthly concepts. In previous works, Crandall-Bear examined the healthy aspects of a spiritual life in harmony with nature as well as a man’s alternating perspective within space and time shared with a certain environmental transformation.
