Eyes on American artist Mark Bradley-Shoup and his architectural paintings.

Currently based in Chattanooga, Mark Bradley-Shoup earns his money as artist and lecturer at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Represented by David Lusk Gallery, he creates paintings and paper based mixed media artworks that draw inspiration from both urban and rural environments. After earning a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he received his MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Using a vast amount of masking tape, rulers, and x-acto blades, Mark Bradley-Shoup produces semi-abstract interactions of diverse painted areas. This way, he creates architectural paintings that emphasize the surface textures of his diverse compositions. His varied work deals with themes such as consumption and growth, expansion and recession, and the elegance of brutality. During the last years, Mark Bradley-Shoup received numerous awards and his outstanding work has been exhibited in countless galleries.
