Look at this unique architectural project by Room11, an Australian architecture firm. They designed the Lookout House located in Port Arthur, Tasmania.
The home is situated on a previously cleared site with views towards Tasman Island and the Southern Ocean. The eye-catching architecture is characterized by a farmhouse typology. The architects transformed this characteristic into a modern hybrid courtyard house. The back with the entrance is almost completely covered (with the exception of a small window), while the front with the included main living space provides unrestricted panoramic views of the landscape. The farmhouse characteristic is a result of three gable roof extrusions as well as the simple wood look.
