Japanese Artist Kiyo Hasegawa

Abstract paintings by Japanese artist Kiyo Hasegawa.

Kiyo Hasegawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1984. After a BFA in 2009, she graduated with a MFA in Japanese Paintings from the Tama Art university in 2011.

The artist creates abstract landscapes aroused by her mind and memories. Kiyo Hasegawa’s work is characterized by her fascination for the unique wet atmosphere often seen and felt in Japanese landscapes. She don’t want to depict these landscapes in the way they really look like. The artist’s approach is to depict the landscape as it exists in people’s inner spirit.
