Fougeron Architecture completed this beautiful holiday house at Big Sur, California. The three-bedroom home is situated on a cliff at Big Sur’s spectacular south coast. The main focus was to create an architecture that offers a maximum of breathtaking views. Fougeron Architecture’s design embeds the house within this beautiful California landscape. The long volume of the house adapts to the natural slope. The entire construction is made of two rectangular boxes, which are connected by an all-glass library. The upper volume includes the kitchen, living room, dining room, and the ground-floor bedrooms, while the second volume includes the double-cantilevered master bedroom suite. This lower volume offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
The northern facade consists mainly of glass. This side reveals expansive ocean and coastline views. The south facade of the house is mostly enclosed to provide protection and privacy.
