Decresc Seating Design Series by Kazuya Koike

The Decresc series, a sophisticated example of Japanese furniture design by Kazuya Koike.

That’s what I like on Japanese furniture and interior design, it often combines high quality craftsmanship with pure simplicity and a unique touch. The Decresc series by Kazuya Koike contains these attributes in an impressive way.

The Osaka, Japan based product, industrial, and furniture designer has created the Decresc seating series for a material design exhibition held in Material Connexion Tokyo during Tokyo Design Week.

Decresc stool and chair were produced using a special technology for dyed plywood. The procedure was developed by Gisen Co Ltd, a textile-processing company specializing in synthetic fabrics and special dyeing processing.

The dyed ink in the Decresc series has a curly grain effect. In addition, the color of the ink blends perfectly with the original color of the wood. Visit en.doogdesign.jp to see more of Kazuya Koike creative product design solutions.
