“Calma is a piece of furniture inspired in traditions that through a contemporary treatment of the materials and its formal configuration, raises a revision of a clasic piece, bringing back to the spirit of the slow movement.

In the middle of the way of a rocking chair and an armchair, calma is a seat that offers a playful component in the relax reunion. Influenced by the basis of the slow movment it is a seat that points to emphasize the relationship between the user, the materials and the process of the object. The rocking chair is loosing its place in the contemporary equipment because it supposes some using premises that make it incompatible with the modern life. It imposes a gentle balance, that as a mantra, helps to disconnect of the surroundings. The use of a rocking chair implies an adaptation of the rithm that the movement generates. It is a rest and relax seat, but that invites to interact with others, it could be defined as a chair of dynamic dialogue. Its structure and the use of the materials promotes the relationship of the user with identity signs atavistic through a contemporary language. It is a piece that configures the space, but it doesn’t invade it, that relates with the user in a warm and frank way.

This chair was developed for the Mercosur Productive Integration contest where obtained the third prize. In addition it was selected for the second stage of the Movesul Contest”
