The Bommer Slab Font.
Brazilian type designer Eduilson Wessler Coan of foundry dooType has started to work on the Bommer project in January of 2014. Bommer Slab is the first published family of this project. The family includes 14 fonts, which consist of 7 uprights and 7 matching italics for each weight. Bommer offers a strong look that works great for dominant headlines. Due to the good readability, the Bommer Slab font family is also a perfect choice for text blocks. Bommer Slab includes different typographic options and features. It also supports multiple languages. The complete type family is available as both web font as well as desktop font.
The Bommer Slab font family is just the first release of a complex type system. A rounded version based on the same geometric structure will hopefully be launched in May 2014. A condensed and a sans font version will follow soon. It seems that we have something to look forward. So let’s be patient. In the meantime, we can play with the Bommer Slab font family.
