Bodoni Sans, an elegant fashion font family.
Bodoni is one of the most distinctive serif typefaces, which is well known for its accurate and yet elegant look. With Bodoni Sans, type designer Jason Vandenberg wanted to combine these elegance with the sobriety of a contemporary sans serif font.
The designer removed the serifs, while maintaining the high contrast between thin and thick lines as well as the elegance of Bodoni’s curves. All the main proportions of the capitals and x-heights were maintained, while the letterforms were revised and some modifications were made for use without serifs. Jason Vandenberg also created an all new Light version.
The result of this work is a modern typeface, well suited for fashion and any kind of elegant typography. Bodoni Sans is characterized by a high contrast along with contemporary simplicity. In order to provide an optimum of performance for any application area, Jason Vandenberg developed three optical sizes: Standard, Display, and Text. All versions are available as webfont and desktop font.
