American Artist Caitlin Keogh

Selected paintings by American artist Caitlin Keogh from her recent solo show at Bortolami, New York.

Using patterns and fashion related details, American artist Caitlin Keogh creates drawings and paintings with a feminine touch. Caitlin says her interest in arts awoke concurrently with learning to sew. The fashionable style of her artworks is deeply inspired by fabrics and her love for controversial photographs. Especially some images of models posing in front of Jackson Pollock paintings (published in Vogue, March 1951) had a strong influence on her current work. Please read more below.

The use of different patterns and structures mimics swatches of woven and fabric. The artist often focuses on diverse fashion accessories like shoes and scarves to create some kind of female playfulness with a certain sexual reference. The selected images in this article were part of her latest solo show called “Loose Ankles” at Bortolami gallery in New York City.
